Some Authorific Quotes

Here are some quote that appropriately sum up what exactly being a writer means to me :)

I write for the same reason I breathe -- because if I didn't, I would die.
- Isaac Asimov

I write because I like to make things, and the only things I am good at making things with are words.
- P.J. O'Rourke

I write to understand as much as to be understood.
- Elie Wiesel

I write to keep from going mad from the contradictions I find among mankind - and to work some of those contradictions out for myself.
- Michel de Montaigne

Why do I write? Because I find life unsatisfactory.
- Tennessee Williams

I hope those quotes give some insight into the mind of a writer, for those of you who aren't so keen on trying to sit down and bang a story out of your keyboard. We didn't ask to see stories everywhere we look, or to read people like books, or to know immediately the difference between a great masterpiece and a lame attempt. But know what? Ask any one of us, and we'd all resoundingly say that it's worth it. All the things we see that no one else does; all the things we feel that other people don't; all the thousands of stories and half-formed novels and wistful dreams floating around in our heads that we have to write down so we don't explode. All definitely worth it. We change the world with places and people and events that others would never get to experience without our imagination and creativity, and we are facets of the ultimate Author, who penned this story for us long before Earth was even a twinkle in His eye. We don't write because we want to, or because we can -- we write because we are filled with some mysterious aspect of a creative and beautiful God, and all we can do is breathe out that mystery within us onto paper.
So now you know why I write.
       Because I must :)
Have an amazing week, and hug an author next time you see one :)

If You Don't Try, You Won't Succeed

I am going to try really hard to post AT LEAST once a week this summer. I'm going to be working hard on some books this summer (not necessarily only Sons and Daughters), and I will try to keep you as updated as possible :) If I start getting behind, remind me, and I will do better
Have a fantastic day! God bless!!! :)

6 Days Left ...

... Of regular school. The seniors finish regular school tomorrow. Oh mah goodness. Where has the time gone? Next thing I know, my class will be seniors and getting our green caps and gowns ... That's quite a frightening thought. When I was in elementary school, I remember thinking the seniors were so old and adult-like, but now ... they seem so young >.< I guess since I'm basically the same age, they seem way too young to be adults and going off to college. I obviously think the same of my class.
Wow. May 31st (graduation) is going to be so hard. I can't believe it's almost here already.
Well ... I hope you all have a great week, and enjoy the time you have with the people you love :)

The End Approacheth

We have about 3 weeks of school left. How is this even possible? I honestly don't know. I seems like I literally just started my junior year. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. These next few weeks will be INSANE. I take the SAT tomorrow, and I have two AP tests rapidly approaching -- and I'll be spending lots of quality time with my AP Bio class reviewing for that exam >.< Ugh. But it'll all be over soon.

Which is also slightly horrifying, because that means my senior friends will  be gone, and I don't know how I will survive without them (I'm only partially joking here). There is, of course, my best friend PG13, and about 4 others that I will dearly miss. Is it possible that they'll be college freshman later this year? Oh my.
For me, the older kids are the ones I've always looked up to for inspiration and guidance. Next year, my class will be 'the older kids,' and I'm not sure how I'm going to handle not having any older friends :/  It will be very odd and very hard to adjust to, methinks. I'll try and blog about how next year goes as often as I remember I have a blog ;) But no worries, I will blog a gigantic 'seniors-I-will-miss-you-so-much' post after graduation and after I have pictures and everything. So that will be coming up in the next few weeks :)
Hope you all are having a great week!!!
